An Approach to Temporal Planning and Scheduling in Domains with Predictable Exogenous Events
نویسندگان
چکیده
The treatment of exogenous events in planning is practically important in many realworld domains where the preconditions of certain plan actions are affected by such events. In this paper we focus on planning in temporal domains with exogenous events that happen at known times, imposing the constraint that certain actions in the plan must be executed during some predefined time windows. When actions have durations, handling such temporal constraints adds an extra difficulty to planning. We propose an approach to planning in these domains which integrates constraint-based temporal reasoning into a graph-based planning framework using local search. Our techniques are implemented in a planner that took part in the 4th International Planning Competition (IPC-4). A statistical analysis of the results of IPC-4 demonstrates the effectiveness of our approach in terms of both CPU-time and plan quality. Additional experiments show the good performance of the temporal reasoning techniques integrated into our planner.

Integrating Planning and Temporal Reasoning for Domains with Durations and Time Windows

متن کاملIntegrated Process Planning and Active Scheduling in a Supply Chain-A Learnable Architecture Approach
Through the lens of supply chain management, integrating process planning decisions and scheduling plans becomes an issue of great challenge and importance. Dealing with the problem paves the way to devising operation schedules with minimum makespan; considering the flexible process sequences, it can be viewed as a fundamental tool for achieving the scheme, too. To deal with this integration, t...
متن کاملValidating Plans in the Context of Processes and Exogenous Events
Complex planning domains push the boundaries of the expressive power of planning domain modelling languages. Recent extensions to the standard planning languages have included expressions for temporal, metric and resource structures. Other work has also considered how process models can be incorporated into domain models. In this paper we consider the problem of expressing and validating models...
متن کاملApprentissage de règles associatives temporelles pour les séquences temporelles de symboles. (Learning temporal association rules on Symbolic time sequences)
The learning of temporal patterns is a major challenge of Data mining. We introduce a temporal pattern model called Temporal Interval Tree Association Rules (Tita rules or Titar). This pattern model can be used to express both uncertainty and temporal inaccuracy of temporal events. Among other things, Tita rules can express the usual time point operators, synchronicity, order, and chaining,disj...
متن کاملA Compilation of the Full PDDL+ Language into SMT
Planning in hybrid systems is important for dealing with realworld applications. PDDL+ supports this representation of domains with mixed discrete and continuous dynamics, and supports events and processes modeling exogenous change. Motivated by numerous SAT-based planning approaches, we propose an approach to PDDL+ planning through SMT, describing an SMT encoding that captures all the features...
